Today, right now…this very moment is a gift and the opportunity to create your life
the way you want to experience.
Every day is a new day for creation; your voice has meaning, so create and share your message to the world.
Today is a brand new day; let go of your self impose limitations and open yourself to the
infinite possibilities that the universe has for you.
Every day is a new day for creation; your thoughts will manifest in the physical realm, every minute and hour of the day, so be careful which ideas you display and keep in mind what results from you want.
Today is a brand new day, to be all you can be, expressing your most authentic self to everything and everyone you come in contact with, with no reservation.
Do you want to participate in the creation process, or do you want to be in the reaction process?
This question is vital in how you perceive and approach your day, from routines to schedule events and unexpected situations.
From the reaction process, your experiences will result from your ego-mind, always defending and preserving the status quo. Reactions will be stimulated from your embedded set of beliefs, which could be either good or bad depending on the outcomes.
As you know, emotion is energy in motion, and feelings can also be described as discrete and consistent responses to internal or external events which have a particular significance for the person.
Emotions are brief and consist of a coordinated set of responses, including verbal, physiological, behavioral, and neural mechanisms.
Feelings have also been described as biologically given due to evolution because they provided reasonable solutions to old and recurring problems that faced our ancestors.
Emotions are thought to be related to specific brain areas that direct our attention, motivate our behavior, and determine the significance of what is going on around us.
Experiencing emotions is like going for a car ride with them. If we are triggered emotionally but unaware of what we are experiencing, our emotions take the driver’s seat.
We end up sitting in the back seat, and our feelings take us where they will…, and most probably, it will be in the reaction mode.
However, with emotional awareness, we sit in the front seat alongside our emotions and become the navigator, which quickly brings me to the point of responding vs. reacting.
When you respond to anything, you give yourself some time or space to create a solution or accept what it is. From this point of view, now you are making a better outcome by merely allowing your inner self to guide you rather than your ego manic mind to take over and react. To be aware of our emotions, we need to learn to tune into our body, where the sensations that make up our feelings manifest.
By noticing and labeling the sensations that we experience, we can learn to see when we are triggered, know that we are about to go for a ride, and be better positioned to drive our actions purposefully in total awareness.
Over 2500 years ago, the Buddha recognized the benefits of being aware of our bodily sensations. The practice of “mindfulness of body” (observing physical phenomena in a non-judgmental way) has long been a core part of Buddhist teachings. Recognizing the benefits of this skill is not limited to Buddhism as mainstream western psychology is also increasingly confirming the benefits of being aware of bodily sensations.
Our minds are usually busy with mental chatter. When we are triggered emotionally, our mind kicks into overdrive, spinning stories about what is happening. When struck by anxiety, for example, we might begin to imagine all the horrible things that are about to happen. Although we may have little information to confirm whether our thinking is real or not, these thoughts appear to be very truthful and accurate. We no longer distinguish between what our thoughts tell us is happening and what we are experiencing.
Now we realize that awareness and staying in the present moment are vital to our inner happiness to create a life each new given day.
We quiet our minds, observe our emotions and respond in a calm state that allows the full creation of positive and enduring experiences.
As stated before, the cause of unhappiness and emotional reactions stems from our false beliefs. My friends, you can make your new day a very interesting one full of surprises, which you can learn as it develops.
But fortunately, you have a choice, from the very moment you get up from your sleep, you have a choice.
You can create a wonderful world full of vibrant, positive energy, or you can also choose to make it a day of negative emotional life. Still, I can tell you that you will experience a different outcome if negative energy is selected. For some people, that is what they want; that is what they will get; the laws of the universe do not discriminate.
As I started this article, today is a brand new day; what will it be for you?
As for me, each day is a new day, full of blessings and opportunities to live life to the fullest, to enjoy the moment, to love unconditionally, to be happy, and that is my choice.
