10 Practical Methods to Increase Your Confidence

Ten practical methods to increase your confidence starting today.

Increase confidence

Rather than puffing this article with too many words, let’s quickly go to the point with the ten practical methods to
increase your confidence in no particular order:

Think about someone confident and act, talk and walk like him or her. Model their mannerisms and behavior. It works for them; it will
work for you.

Smile a lot more. That doesn’t mean putting a silly grin on your face! But smile when you walk down the street when you meet people and
generally, be happier even if you’re not feeling that way.

Learn from the past; don’t beat yourself up about it. It’s gone; it’s never coming back. Instead, learn from it for next time.

Buy yourself some new clothes, get your new hairstyle or cut, treat yourself to something new. It will make you feel better and will give your
self a boost.

Are you prepared for situations? Are you ready enough to meet any challenge that may come up? Are you ready for that meeting, that
presentation, that job interview, when you meet someone for the first time? If not, get to it.

Play to your strengths. Know what you are good at and expose yourself to these opportunities at every opportunity – because you’re good at it,
you’ll enjoy it and have more confidence.

Improve your weaknesses. Know and appreciate what these are and put a plan in place to improve them over time.

Learn how to say no to people. Don’t be afraid; you’ve got nothing to be scared of. Just watch the reaction on their face after you’ve said it
the first time and there will be no going back.

Be positive. Look on the (can do) side of things rather than the (can not do). You’ve accomplished lots in your life, and you will achieve lots
more in the future.

Be in charge of your thoughts at all times. What is a thought? It’s just a question that you’ve asked yourself, and the view is your answer.
If you’re thinking negative thoughts, you’re probably asking a negative question. Change the questions to be more positive.

Increase your Confidence

Also, as a bonus, here is the 60 Second ‘Power’ Exercise to boost your confidence:

Step 1: Put your posture the way you would be if you were sad. Do it right now. Then put the expression on your face that you would have if you
were sad right now.

How do you feel? A little sad?

Step 2: Stand up (really do this right now) and shake your body out. Then, stand tall and upright with your head up high and a confident
(almost cocky) expression on your face! The kind of expression you’d have if you were thinking, That’s right, I’m the best!’ or ‘I rock!’

Notice how you feel now. Don’t you have more energy and confidence now than you did when you were in the first position?

Step 3: This step is only for those who want *wild success* and are willing to step into the outrageous zone to do it). Jump up and down as if you
just hit a grand slam home run to win the world series. Could you do it? (and remember to make the wooo-hooo noises!)

Now, how amazing do you feel now?!!

The bottom line about the exercise is simple; your body can tell your mind how to feel and when you move your body in a way that creates confidence, you feel confident.
